Muthira is a type of legume and which is very beneficial to health. Although it may look small, it is huge in terms of nutritional value. It is mainly given to horses so it is called as horse gram in English. Horse gram Thoran(മുതിര തോരന്) #thoranrecipe #horsegramrecipes #muthirathoran #cooking ➡️SERVES: 8 people 1 Cup=250ml ➡️INGREDIENTS TO PREPARE 1. Horse Gram (മുതിര)- 2 Cups 2. Grated Coconut (തേങ്ങ ചിരവിയത്)- 1 Cup 3. Shallot (ചുവന്നുള്ളി)- 10 to 12 Nos, 4. Garlic (വെളുത്തുള്ളി)- 6 Cloves 5. Curry Leaves (കറിവേപ്പില) 6. Cooking Oil (എണ്ണ)- 2 Table Spoon 7. Cumin Seeds ജീരകം)- 1 pinch 8. Mustard (കടുക്)- 1/2 teaspoon. 9.Turmeric Powder (മഞ്ഞള്പ്പൊടി)- 1 pinch 10. Salt (ഉപ്പ്)- As needed Step: 1.First cook the horse gram with required salt. Use cooker for fast cooking. Otherwise it will take more time to get cooked. 2.Then put a pan on the stove and pour oil. Once oil is hot, put cumin seeds and mustard seeds. 3.Then put 3 to 5 ingredients and stir it well. 4.Once it turned pale brown add little turmeric powder. 5.Then add grated coconut and stir it for five minute under low flame. 6.After that add cooked horse gram in to it and mix well, Then close the pan with lid and keep it for 5 minute under medium to low flame.
