This demonstration about AsTeRICS Grid, a freely available, browser based, full featured speech generating device that uses text-to-speech. This video focusses on the flexibility AG allows in laying out elements on a user defined grid. In this case I show a grid that is designed to be used as a generic multiple choice answer page that could be used interactively, or printed out. I demonstrate 2 techniques for creating multiple buttons. I also provide details about adding actions to buttons to get them to do what I want. At the end I show 2 methods for printing the grid example. Correction: About 7 minutes into the demo, I explain that adding punctuation to a custom message or label can create a natural pause in the text-to-speech flow. I needed to be more specific, and accurate. In the Chrome browser, on Windows, you should put three dots, ..., after text in the example given where I am using a construction like: "A... The dog was running." as I might want in a multiple choice element. In general, a pause in text-to-speech will automatically occur between sentences where punctuation at the end of a sentence precedes a space and a capital letter at the beginning of the next sentence.
