Harbin's Ice and Snow Festival: China's NE city welcomes record crowds with fireworks in -20C chill

Harbin launched its annual Ice and Snow Festival with a dazzling fireworks display despite -20°C temperatures, attracting a record number of visitors. The festival, spanning 810,000 square meters with 250,000 cubic meters of ice, witnessed a significant rise in daily visitors at around 30,000. Hotels were booked out well beyond the Chinese Spring Festival. Themed "Date with Harbin, Ice and Snow Warm the World”, it drew over 3 million visitors during the recent New Year holiday.
