Fixing Parking Brakes | Subaru Outback | Man About Home The rear wheel bearings on the 2009 Subaru Outback were howling, the duct covers on the rear Brake Back Plates were totally rotted away, and the brake pads needed to be replaced in time for inspection. I also replaced the rear drive axles, because they were on the edge. It made sense to do all this work at the same time, and I even renued the parking brake shoes and hardware.
