After spending 6 great nights at the Rocklands reservoir we left on the morning of 12th of September 2024 to make our way to Bendigo for 3 nights at a Big 4 Caravan park. The road trip from Rocklands to Bendigo would generally take roughly 4 hours, however it took us much longer than that. Along the journey we stopped at the following places: Balmoral: Coffee stop at the Balmoral Vic General store Horsham: Fuel and food stop Murtoa: Visited Heritage listed Stick Shed (Built by the local farmers during World War 2 to store grain) Rupanyup: Visited Woods Farming, Heritage museum St Arnoud: Lunch break and looking for mechanic Bendigo: Final destination Highlights of the day: Travelling on the beautiful, quiet and scenic country roads of Victoria. Bright yellow and in full bloom Canola fields The city of Horsham Vic Stick Shed in Murtoa was just magnificent Woods Farm and Heritage Museum was a special place to revisit the history Positives out of the day: Beautiful scenic drive from Rocklands to Bendigo Victoria. Sightseeing and meeting some lovely locals from Country Victoria and some happy travelers from overseas. Car mirror got fixed itself. Safely arrived at our next destination. Negatives: Issue with the driving side mirror for about 15 kms, however it was fixed once we stopped in St Arnoud Vic for lucnh. Not so great food and customer service at a cafe in St Arnoud. Some Victorian country roads are not so great to tow a caravan due to rough surface. Overall experience: Great experience and I would like to recommended camping at the Rocklands reservoir and take this scenic route to Bendigo. Please don't forget to stop in Murtoa to visit The Stick Shed and Rupanyup to visit Woods Farm and Heritage museum. To visit both of these places you would have to pay to gain entry. Finally just remember to travel safely and follow the road and weather conditions. Bye for now.
