With the third and fourth days of Hudan Bhatori, this winter tribal festival gradually moves toward its conclusion. During these days, the intensity of rituals gently transforms into a collective sense of joy and togetherness. People gather one by one on the locally built mud rooftops (chhat / terraces) of the village homes. It is on these rooftops that the traditional dance Shairn begins. As the sound of drums echoes, footsteps fall into rhythm and a circular formation takes shape—where women participate alongside men, equally and wholeheartedly. In Hudan Bhatori, Shairn is not merely a dance; it is a shared memory— a way of remembering the ancestors, expressing gratitude to the deities, and preparing the community for the harsh winter ahead. Amid laughter, songs, and rhythmic movement, old differences fade away. Bonds grow stronger, and the entire village seems to move as one. With this collective dance and shared joy, the winter tribal festival of Hudan Bhatori comes to a calm and sacred close— as if people, nature, and tradition are gently bidding farewell to one another, until the next winter arrives.
