Please join us in honoring a generous hero - this is the Honor Walk for Larita Anne Parker. Below is a beautiful tribute from her daughter: ---- My mother, Sergeant La Rita Anne Parker, proudly served in the United States Army for 12 years. During her service, she earned numerous distinctions recognizing her dedication and excellence, including commendations for outstanding performance, consistent good conduct, exemplary achievement, and successful overseas assignments. These honors reflect her unwavering commitment to her duties, her discipline, and the pride she carried in serving her country. After completing her military career, she continued her federal service at the United States Postal Service for 18 years, bringing her total federal service to 29 years. In September 2020, our cousin Angela Williamson received a life-saving double-lung transplant. We recently learned that my mother had quietly registered as an organ donor—an act fully in line with the compassion that defined her. Even in the midst of another family member’s miracle, she was thinking about how she could one day give the gift of life. LaRita was loving, giving, and strong. She lived with a heart wide open—welcoming, kind, and generous without hesitation. Her strength was steady and unspoken, the kind that protected, nurtured, and held her family together with grace and faith. Being loved by her was a blessing; being hers will forever be an honor. She radiated warmth, gentleness, and grace. She loved her children, family, and friends deeply, and you could feel that love in her presence—every hug, every reassuring word, every quiet act of care. She gave not for acknowledgment, but because giving was part of her spirit. Our lives are softer, richer, and more beautiful because she was in them. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we remain grateful for the love she poured into us, the strength she instilled, and the light she shared. Her love continues within us—and now, through her final act of generosity, it will continue in the lives she will save. Sincerely, Andrea’ R.
