And when you start a Wii game, it should automatically start the Wii menu. There's also the fact that you may need to exit the Wii menu before putting in a new Wii game, or else you could get an error message. I know that if the Wii mode doesn't come up, you can scroll to the Wii U Menu and select the Wii U icon. Then push A. Or use the Wii remote to pick the Wii Menu and then hit A. What if the remote or controller isn't working? Then you have to sync the Wii Remote by connecting the sensor bar, hitting the sync button on the Wii U console or pairing controllers from the home menu - Then what? After you've got the types of controllers on the screen, pick the controller you want to sync and then hit the sync button on the remote.
