I witnessed the parade, which was a spectacular display of Albanian culture with traditional dancers, musicians, and even men on horses. The crowd was dressed in red and black, showcasing their love and pride for Albania. I even bought an Albanian scarf to join in the celebration! The parade amazed me with incredible performances, and I watched as people flew through the sky holding Albanian flags, symbolizing the country’s independence and freedom. Back in Skanderbeg Square, the atmosphere was electric—filled with music, dancing, and celebrations. Next, I took the famous Dajti Ekspress cable cars up the mountain for some of the most breathtaking views of Tirana. At the top, we had dinner overlooking the stunning mountain landscape. The pizza and bolognese we enjoyed with the view made the experience even more memorable. Later, I visited the fascinating Bunk’Art 2, a historical museum showcasing Albania’s past. As night fell, the celebrations continued with cars honking, chanting, and waving flags in the streets. The energy of Tirana during Albanian Independence Day is something I’ll never forget!
