Bring me that horizon! 🏴‍☠️ For GBA Conquest #252, we’re setting sail for Tortuga and beyond in the handheld adaptation of the blockbuster sequel, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. While the movie broke box office records, this GBA title aims to capture the high-seas adventure and supernatural thrills of Captain Jack Sparrow's journey. Is it a buried treasure, or should it be left in Davy Jones' Locker? In this video, we take control of Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann as they brawl through pirate-infested islands and dodge the Kraken. We’ll be reviewing the side-scrolling combat mechanics, the different playable character abilities, and how the game manages to translate the film’s iconic set pieces onto the Game Boy Advance. We’ll also dive into the platforming challenges and see if the swordplay feels as sharp as a cutlass or as dull as a rusty hook. The GBA Conquest is my ambitious, ongoing mission to play, review, and archive every single game ever released for the Game Boy Advance. We’ve fought our way to #252, and from Disney classics to obscure movie tie-ins, we are documenting the entire history of this legendary handheld.
