With great power, comes a great video! 🕷️🏙️ For GBA Conquest #257, we’re swinging into the streets of New York City in the handheld companion to the 2002 blockbuster, Spider-Man: The Movie. While the home consoles went full 3D, the GBA version opted for a detailed 2D side-scrolling experience that focused on Spidey's agility and iconic combat. Is this movie tie-in a spectacular success or should it be swatted? In this video, we’re following Peter Parker's journey from an amateur wrestler to a hero taking on the Green Goblin. We’ll be reviewing the web-swinging physics, the stealth and combat mechanics, and how the game manages to replicate the cinematic feel of the film through its art style and boss encounters. We’ll also take a look at the photography mini-games and the hidden secrets that make this one of the more robust superhero titles on the Game Boy Advance. The GBA Conquest is my ambitious, ongoing mission to play, review, and archive every single game ever released for the Game Boy Advance. We’ve fought our way to #257, and from legendary Nintendo icons to Marvel superstars like Spidey, we are documenting the entire GBA library one cartridge at a time!
