Experiencing the Beautiful Twilight in Lofoten, Norway

There is something special about being outdoors and experiencing the twilight here in Lofoten. This time of year it last for a long time since the sun stays close to horizon for many hours. And then you have all of these steep and tall mountains right next to the ocean that is lit up by the sun after the sun dips below the horizon from the ground perspective. We also just had a snowfall which makes the light reflect in the white mountain tops even more, so all these things combined makes for a spectacular and colorful light show. I hike down to the sea where I have the best view of the tall mountains surrounding this fjord. The fishing season is in full swing, so there are lots of smaller fishing boats that return to the harbor after a day out on the ocean. About half an hour after sunset the golden light on the mountain peaks fade and turn into a calm blue color. As a photographer I’ve always enjoyed blue hour. Most people tend to stop taking photographs just after sunset, but the hour after sunset is in my view the best time of the day, when you still see the contours of the landscapes, and you start to see some of the visible planets in the sky which often look like stars. It’s quite relaxing to experience, and I hope I managed to convey some of that in this video. Thank you for watching!
