Coconut Coves near Auxilium School, opposite Prazeres Boutique, Kerant, Caranzalem, Taleigao, Panaji, Goa Google Maps location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ALq2xhrqFfPhQ... Costs we paid: Maharashtrian veg thali Rs 349, Maharashtrian chicken thali Rs 349, Maharashtrian mutton thali Rs 549 Hi guys, good morning. Today we’re going north for some Maharashtrian food. We’re going to a place called Coconut Coves which is in Caranzalem on the way to Taleigao near Panjim. And apparently they specialise in Maharashtrian and Goan thalis. So, for a change, it would be nice especially in this Shravan season to try a different thali Coconut Coves is in Caranzalem, Panjim, North Goa. We are coming from the south along Campal so will turn right for Coconut Coves. Take the right going to Taleigao Junction. It’s the same road as Padaria Prazeres. Coconut Coves is half a kilometre down this road, just after Auxilium school. There is ample parking ahead We tried the Maharashtrian veg thali (Rs 349), Maharashtrian chicken thali (Rs 349) and Maharashtrian mutton thali (Rs 549) Jaya’s veg Maharashtrian thali (Rs 349) has bimbli pickle, curd, onion salad, kothimbir vadi, gulab jamun, peas bhaji, potato brinjal bhaji, dal, papor, a bhakri and rice My mutton thali (Rs 549) has coconut barfi, rice bhakri, sol kari, onion salad, raita, mutton cutlet, mutton gravy, mutton sukka and rice And finally Roma’s chicken thali (Rs 349) has egg bhaji, chicken masala, chicken sukka, onion salad, coconut sweet, raita, sol kari, a jowar bhakri and rice Jaya liked the dal a lot and the kothmir vadi the most. She also liked the bimbli pickle and the coconut sweet. The bhajis were okay, a little too spicy Roma found the food was tasty, though a bit spicy. It had a unique and different flavor that stood out. Her favourite was the egg masala That was a nice and very different lunch. Very different from what we are used to.. It was good to have a different kind of thali, a Maharashtrian thali. I had the mutton Kolhapuri thali, and I was very impressed with the quality of the mutton. In fact, I was missing Maria a lot because Maria, like me, is a big lover of mutton and she always complains that we get bones bones. But Maria, you should know that in Coconut Coves they give meat, meat. Not bones bones And I again missed Maria because they were making this dish live in the restaurant, Agri Koli crab. They were kind enough to give me a complimentary taste because they were cooking that dish. And it took me straight back to my working days in Bombay in the 1990s so, it was a real trip down memory lane and very nostalgic. I loved the Kolhapuri mutton and the mutton gravy. And best of all, I liked the mutton cutlets on my Kolhapuri mutton thali I would definitely go to Coconut Coves again I would just advise people who don’t like their food too spicy, to maybe take extra curd if they want to go to Coconut Coves, because, the food is uthentically spicy, If you want to enjoy Kolhapuri food, you have to be prepared for some spice and Coconut Coves makes it really authentic Really nice place, guys. Do go Enjoy life, guys. Take care Music by: https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/?...
