A two-day free medical camp held at the Phinal Community Medical Centre in Kamukuywa, Bungoma County, recorded an overwhelming turnout, with hundreds of residents receiving much-needed healthcare services. The outreach initiative saw close to 400 people attended to on the first day, while approximately 300 more benefited on the second day. Patients from Kamukuywa and neighboring areas turned up in large numbers to access free consultations, medical examinations, and essential medicines. A team of doctors, nurses, and healthcare volunteers conducted general check-ups, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, and offered treatment for common illnesses. Patients requiring specialized or further care were referred to appropriate health facilities for follow-up treatment. Speaking during the exercise, organizers noted that the camp was aimed at improving access to healthcare, particularly for vulnerable and underserved members of the community. Health education sessions were also conducted, focusing on disease prevention, hygiene practices, nutrition, and management of chronic conditions. Residents expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. Organizers reaffirmed their commitment to organizing similar medical outreach programs in the future to enhance healthcare access across Bungoma County.
