Great Central Railway - Winter Steam Gala 2024 - 26/1/24

From Friday 26th - Sunday 28th January 2024, the Great Central Railway would host their annual Winter Steam Gala event. The event saw an intensive timetable with both passenger and demonstration freight trains running throughout. 6 members of the home fleet were in service 78018, 78019, 92214, 73156, 48305 and 6990 'Witherslack Hall'. alongside them were two guest locomotives with Lancashire & Yorkshire A Class no. 52322 from East Lancashire Railway and BR Standard Class 4MT no.75069 from Severn Valley Railway. Derby Lightweight Railcar 'Iris' and the NER Electric Autocar no. 3170 were also in service during the event. Originally USATC S160 2253 'Omaha' was to appear at the event, but due to suffering a mechanical failure, it was instead replaced by BR Standard Class 4MT 75069. For this event we attended the Friday of the Gala, we were at Quorn & Woodhouse station, we were unable to get into the field due to it being water logged. But was able to get other shots in and around the station area. I will look at going to other spots for future visits such as Woodthorpe. But some pretty good shots can be filmed at Quorn. In a couple of shots I did have to adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation due to problems with sunlight, but I sorted that out, and that has improved the couple of shots I did that to and was pleased with the shots I filmed during the day.
