RAF Daws Hill - High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, UK. This was without doubt the largest (50 acres) explore site location that i have visited to date. Unfortunately i only got to record a very small part of it for one reason or another. Having said that! I really enjoyed what i did manage to explore & i also got to meet four other explorers quite soon after finding my way onto the base. A great bunch of guys who's names were "True British Metal, Landie Man, Southside Assassin, Pcwox" and i'm sure your names are on that visiting board?. Anyhow nice to meet you all & thanks for showing me the location of a few of the main attractions! Wish that i had more time on site before my luck ran out & i was politely asked to leave by dempsey & makepeace of the local constabulary (except these two were pretty cute:) & who were accompanied by the scruffiest looking security guard i have ever seen (no company uniform?) shortly after the camera battery ran out also. I was quite disappointed to not even get a lift into town in their taxi, you win some lose some! I didn't get down the lane to the see the (grade II Listed 2013) cold war nuclear bunker compound (recent reports it's securely sealed) so we'll have to make do with whats on the internet already. The station was home, between 1971 and 2007, to the London Central Elementary High School, part of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools, with pupils in grades K–12. Also at Daws Hill are 70 housing units for American personnel and their families. Other facilities include warehouses and those for vehicle maintenance, as well as support buildings for persons who lived and worked at the station, such as a bank, a post office, a bowling alley, theatre, sports grounds and buildings, a small exchange, an automobile refueling station, grocery store and a social club. Oh! the Basketball team was the Bobcats & the Baseball team was the Spitfires...Enjoy the tour! Redevelopment Plans Link here: https://www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/propos...
