This trusty layout sits in my damp garage year after year and gives me very little trouble. Having started construction of two Peco Parkside PC20 kits of the 50 Ton Bogie Sulphate of Ammonia wagons I needed to test before adding decals The bogies in this kit are not easy to get 'right' and great care is needed, in fact I used my own building method as I think the kit instructions are a pathway to disaster. The first build I ballasted with 2 stacks of 2 two penny pieces attached above each bogie mounting locations and weighs 70 grams. The second build I was less happy with the bogies and decided to reduce to a single two penny piece each end resulting in an overall weight of 55 grams. Both run very smoothly and I have no doubt could pull another 30 to 40 wagons behind them without running problems. St Oval has 3 set-track points and some 1st radius turns to run around so there should be no layout limitations with these wagons.
