NSUN National Network for mental health supports Loud and Clear Advocacy A Short documentary on coercive practices seen in Mental Health Units across UK. The fund was granted from National Lottery to Loud and Clear Ltd to commission the project. www.loudandclear.org Coercion under the law. For example, under the Mental Health Act you can be detained in hospital against your will and be forced to take medication without your consent. Informal coercion where there is no legal basis for making someone comply with a regime in hospital or the community but where nurses or doctors lead you to believe that if, you do not do as you are asked, then they can make you conform. One example of this type of coercion is being told that you must take medication in the community even if you are not under a CTO (Compulsory Treatment Order). Loud and Clear is running a campaign against coercion in mental health.
