Chantal Pitts on her residency and work for Shelter: The Outside In National Exhibition

The New Art Gallery is delighted to be working with Outside In to present the charity’s National Open Exhibition ‘Shelter’ until 19 October 2025. As part of the project, Chantal Pitts was selected for a 21-week residency and commission opportunity following an open call to makers and sculptors in the West Midlands. Pitts’ practice focuses on the use of furniture and everyday objects to create sculptures, assemblages and installations that delve into personal identity and self-representation. She has used her residency to develop an installation that will resonate with the theme of domestic shelter, as well as an information hub for the exhibition. Shelter: The Outside In National Open Exhibition, 28 June — 19 October 2025, The New Art Gallery Walsall, UK.
