This is the old lectern/pulpit from our church. We don't use it as such anymore, but we don't want to just throw it away. So, I was asked to modify it by levelling the top. In this way it can be used as a candle stand, or table. Like as a place to hold a unity candle during a formal wedding. Things like that. Someone else had started removing the angled lectern, and I completed the job, and stripped off the trim as well. I then prepared some old oak/ash from an old church pew to make a patch to fit the hole. I just used screws to hold it in place, so that this modification can be worked on or adjusted in the future if needed. I was all the way at the finishing stage when I found out that this pulpit actually dated from the 1880s. It's not a valuable antique or anything like that, but I still am glad that I was careful as I worked on this piece! ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- LINKS TO SOME OF THE ITEMS USED: (AND/OR other tools and jigs that I use and recommend.
