Recently, there has been some controversy regarding the existence of Bagh Hazarika. The historian clarified the issue with well-supported and detailed examples, explaining that Bagh Hazarika, who served as a commander under Lachit Borphukan, was not a fictional character. Refuting the claims made by some political commentators, Shri Dohutia vividly described the heroic deeds of Bagh Hazarika during the Battle of Saraighat. He also narrated the sorrowful chapter of the Battle of Alaboi, where the Ahoms suffered defeat. In this context, Shri Dohutia referred us to a significant number of historical sources and books for evidence.
