The Sharpless Catalog, established in 1959 by Dr. Stewart Sharpless, is the best of the many astronomy catalogs for astrophotographers seeking beautiful narrowband targets. The catalog consists solely of nebulae, with no standalone star clusters or obscure galaxies. Many of these nebulae targets are faint, but today's scope, camera and processing technologies allow us to gather photons far faster than ever before. Gary Imm has recently completed imaging of the entire Sharpless catalog of 313 objects. He'll summarize his effort and his subject book, which shows, rates and describes each of the 313 objects. Gary is a prolific amateur astrophotographer who retired to Onalaska, Texas and took up the hobby of astrophotography almost a decade ago. He enjoys imaging deep sky objects, particularly the small and obscure ones, and has published 8 books on astrophotography. He has imaged 12,000 hours and has captured 2500 different DSOs.
