Hello neighbors, it's Brad here from etrailer, and today we are taking a look at installing the Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate on a 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500. And this is a great addition for those of you that wanna add protection to the front of your truck. Whether you kinda live in the wilderness and there's lots of animals that can damage the front or you're covering a lot of miles and don't ever want to be left stranded, this is a great way to protect your truck, your headlights, all of your cooling system and make it look tough in the process. Now a lot of times when you put something like an accessory this large on a vehicle, you're gonna have to sacrifice things. And some of that is with newer vehicles, there's a lot of creature comforts that are added in, including adaptive cruise control as well as sensors for proximity. And that's the cool part with this grill guard is they've taken that into account. This center section can be removed for that adaptive cruise control. And we also have four sections here that will come with cables that you can attach to your factory sensor so you don't lose that proximity. And, in fact, putting it up towards the front means that it's gonna be accurate as far as that proximity. Now unfortunately on our truck today, we did not have a camera or those sensors. We initially thought that was the case, but once we're installing we realize that wasn't true. But the installation that I'm gonna cover, we'll get this grill guard on. And as far as getting those adapters in place, they come with a grommet with a fitting for those sensors to go in. And as I mentioned, they come with piggyback cables that really make it plug and play. There's also plates on the backside to get full access to everything so you don't have to worry about feeding those wires in and making small connections in a tight spot. It's super accessible and truly I think if you can install this grow guard, getting those sensors to work shouldn't be a problem. Now overall appearance with this black powder coat finish I think looks great. I mean this really takes the truck to the next level of looking tough and it follows exactly where the headlights go. So this is custom designed for this style of truck. So it's really nice that you're not gonna be blocking anything headlight wise, it's gonna keep these protected. So again, if you ever worry about, well, other people or animals out on the road, this is gonna protect everything and it's really gonna keep your truck from getting chipped up and scratched too as well with a punch plate. This is gonna keep those large rocks from hitting the front of your truck and keeping those chips and scratches down to a minimum, but you still get airflow. You're not gonna be restricted because with the punch plate, all of that can still go through there. Another neat thing is you can still maintain your factory tow hooks. So again, across the board, you're not really losing any functionality, but you're gaining a really nice look and also that protection. This thing is super solid, mounted up to the frame, on the bottom, as well as our bumper up top means that this thing's gonna be completely solid. And so even if you do make some impact, you're not gonna cause a whole lot of issue to this thing. Now they also have this cap on this protruding edge here, which I think is great because chances are if you are gonna hit anything or get chips or rock scratches, this is the largest surface that that would happen and this cover is gonna help protect that and keep it looking clean in the process. Outside of it just looking cool, there's not a whole lot more to cover with this, you know why you're looking at a brush guard or a grill guard. And to tell you the truth, this really does just set this truck to the next level. We've also added some of the HDX side steps from Westin too, to really finish out that look. It's gonna be in that same HDX line, so you get a nice clean look overall. And in terms of installation, since we are gonna be mounting up to the frame, we do have to trim a little bit of our lower bumper to get those brackets to go through. But up top we'll use factory bolts that are on the bumper, a little bit of trimming there that you won't see once installed, but it does require the front gril
