Why Sound Re-Designs are useful (for practice and showreels) Concept Art helps artists and modellers visualise. In #gameaudio we can use a similar approach that is sometimes called a "paint over" or "sound re-design". I used that approach to study Magic and Electricity and took "Victor's Origin Story" as an inspiration for its clear visual communication and variety of effects. In my work as a Game Audio Designer I often look towards exiting media for inspiration and learning, especially when a game is not yet providing animated visuals. In this case, learnings and lessons from a private session might perhaps apply as experience for creating pallets on an adjacent game! #gameaudio should always be in support visuals and for me, finding inspiration in new visuals can help guide the creative process.
