In Ayurveda, a person’s digestive capacity, the state of agni is foundational to health. If agni is strong foods are assimilated and absorbed properly and when weak creates ama or toxicity that builds up in the body and mind (1). Healthy digestion is determined by the quality and regularity of stools, and how one feels after eating – gas, bloat, and abdominal pain, although common, are not normal. The three spice blends in this video work to balance agni of each vata, pitta, and kapha. Use the blend that is best suited for your constitution or imbalance and sprinkle on foods or use as the flavoring in your dahl or kitchari or other doshic-balancing meal.
