This is a mini-documentary describing an international and multi-disciplinary project to understand the reproductive ecology of tsetse. This fly is notorious for transmitting the trypanosome parasites that cause debilitating and even lethal disease to humans, livestock and wildlife. This team is led by Dr Sinead English (University of Bristol) and Professor Steve Torr (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, LSTM), with funding from the BBSRC and the Royal Society. For further details on our research please see: https://evelab.org/ or https://www.tsetse.org/ and our recent essay on tsetse reproduction https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/1... This film is produced by Mr Daniel Hargrove (https://vimeo.com/danielhargrove) and narrated by Dr Lee Haines (LSTM). Filming took place on location at the Rekomechi Research Station, Zimbabwe - with the support of the Tsetse Control Division - and at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK.
