JUPITER, Fla. — Several Palm Beach County residents came together to honor the life of Rico Roundtree, a young Jupiter athlete who died just days ago in an E-bike crash. Family and friends released balloons Sunday afternoon in remembrance of Rico Roundtree, a young boy whose life was taken too soon. The 12-year-old athlete was killed in an E-bike accident Thursday after a car crashed into him in Jupiter. The unexpected tragedy has forced broken hearts to offer heartfelt farewells. Blake Dillion, 12, who said Rico was one of his best friends described Rico as hardworking and kind. "He’d never stop pushing; he’d always go. He always gave it a hundred percent," Dillon said. "I wish he was still here. it’s so sad that he’s gone, but he’s in a better place now.” Dillon was among hundreds who gathered at Abacoa Community Park football field, a place Rico shinned, to share memories, hugs, and words of encouragement. _______________ Stay up to date with our social media: WPEC on Facebook: / cbs12news WPEC on Twitter: / cbs12 Subscribe to WPEC on YouTube: / @cbs12newswpec WPEC Daily News Digest: • Плейлист For more information, visit https://cbs12.com/ Have a news tip?
