⛈️ HEAVY RAINFALL and SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS will shift further eastwards on Friday. Areas in North West, the Free State, Gauteng and the Bushveld could receive more than 20 mm of rain in 24 hours, while isolated areas may see up to 50 mm falling in a short period of time. ⚠️ These intense downpours may lead to localised flooding. ⚠️IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS issued by SAWS⚠️ 🟠 Orange Level 5: Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours that will result in flooding of susceptible roads and low-lying bridges/areas, damaging winds, excessive lightning and large amounts of small hail that will result in damage to infrastructure and settlements are expected over the north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape, western parts of the North West as well as over the central and eastern parts of the Free State. 🟡 Yellow Level 4: Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours that will result in localised flooding and damage to infrastructure and settlements, damaging winds, excessive lightning and large amounts of small hail is expected over parts of Northern Cape, southern parts of the Free State, eastern parts of North West, in KwaZulu-Natal (except the north-eastern parts), Gauteng and western Highveld of Mpumalanga. 🟡 Yellow Level 2: Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours that will result in localised flooding and damage to infrastructure and settlements, damaging winds, excessive lightning and large amounts of small hail is expected over the southern Bushveld of Limpopo and eastern Highveld of Mpumalanga. #VoxWeather #HeavyRain #Flooding
