Yacht wrecked in Mallorca, Sila Sibri sailboat hits the beach in Palma, Spain

The 105-foot (32-meter) super sailing yacht Sila Sibri hit the rocky beach in Mallorca in rough weather on October 15, 2018. See pictures and hear the story of this sailboat disaster. The Sila Sibri was bought in February 2017 after being listed for $1.6 million. Originally called the SV Kestral, it was a Ron Holland designed 12-cabin two-masted sailboat. It had 8 guest cabins and 4 crew cabins. It had a 350 HP engine. The Russian construction magnet Valery Kokorin who has represented Omsk, Siberia owned it. A double circumnavigation around Antartica was planned before it his the rocks. It is not clear why its crew lost control of the vessel in rough conditions in Palma, Mallorca, Spain in the Mediterranean.
