Our Mission: Anchor Center for Blind Children teaches visually impaired infant, young children and their families, providing hope and a nurturing environment where children reach their highest potential. More About Us: Founded in 1982 by a librarian from the Colorado Library for the Blind and the local alumnae chapter of the Delta Gamma fraternity, Anchor Center offers infant, toddler, preschool, home visit, family support and outreach programs. We teach children life skills such as mobility, feeding, and pre-literacy to prepare them for kindergarten in the public school system. Our comprehensive therapies allow each child to thrive and become confident individuals. Anchor Center is the only private organization in Colorado serving children ages birth to five years old that are blind, visually impaired or deafblind. Most of our funding comes from individuals and no family is ever denied services due to an inability to pay a modest program fee. Visit Us: www.anchorcenter.org
