The song became one of CCR’s most enduring hits, reaching #1 in Canada, #8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and earning the band their eighth gold-selling single. While many listeners interpret the song as reflecting the fading idealism of the late 1960s, Fogerty has explained that it was actually written about internal tensions within CCR, particularly the growing strain in the band and the impending departure of his brother Tom Fogerty. Despite massive success, the group members were unhappy, inspiring the line about “rain coming down on a sunny day.” The song’s imagery also references a sunshower, a weather phenomenon common in the southern United States. CCR officially disbanded in 1972, just a year after the song’s release, cementing it as a reflective moment near the end of the band’s run. ——————————————————————————————————————————— 🎶 Lyrics Full lyrics are available in the pinned comment below 👇 ——————————————————————————————————————————— 💬 Join the Conversation Does this song feel more uplifting or bittersweet when you play it on guitar? ——————————————————————————————————————————— 🔥 Hashtags #CCR #HaveYouEverSeenTheRain #planetguitar #guitarplayalong #guitarchords #guitartutorial #guitarlesson #onscreenchords #guitarwithlyrics #nocapo #beginnerguitar #easyguitarlesson #classicrockguitar #70srock #acousticguitar #strummingpattern #guitarstrumming #learnguitar #guitarcover #youtubeguitarlesson
