High Speed Art: acrylic art painting technique by artist Teresa Mundt

We all have piles of 'failed' paintings laying around gathering dust, but don't let them get you down! There are many ways of transforming these 'not-so-great' works of art into something new. Instead of throwing your failed artwork on the rubbish pile, or painting over it with gesso, try working with the existing colours, marks and patterns as I have in this video. It will be a much more enjoyable, and much faster way of creating a painting than starting from scratch all over again. Here I've got a boring old landscape painting that just didn't work. I loved the colours, but the actual composition of the painting was dull, so I want to give it a new lease on life by transforming it into something quite different (without losing the colours). I used a combination of masking fluid and black gesso to achieve this effect. The colours really jump out against the black background, and masking fluid... well, it's just fun to play with.
