And K1.7 billion has been estimated as the budget for the 2026 General election. Electoral Commission of ZAMBIA Chairperson MWANGALA ZALOUMIS has launched the 2026 General Election Road Map in LUSAKA today. Mrs. ZALOUMIS said the production of the 2026 Election Road Map demonstrates the commission's commitment to holding transparent and credible elections. And Ministry of Justice Permanent Secretary ISABELLE LEMBA urged the electoral reforms technical committee to be cautious in the quest to consolidate submissions from various stakeholders to ensure certainty of electoral laws. Meanwhile, United Nations Resident Coordinator BEATRICE MUTALI said electoral reforms are a bedrock of sustainable democracy.
