Grey Mullet / Shevate Fish Thali l Shevtyache Lunch Thali l Goan Fish Thali l @GoanSpiceHouse #mulletfish #fishthali #fishcurry #fish #fishcurryrice #goanrecipe #goanspicehouse #goancuisine #nonvegrecipe #konkani #lunchthali Ingredients: Fish Marinate: Shevate / Mullet Fish – 6 (cleaned and washed thoroughly) Salt as per taste For Fish Curry: Grated coconut – ½ coconut Chopped onion – 1 medium size Dry coriander seeds – 1 tsp Kashmiri chillies – 3 Dry red chillies – 8 to 9 Tamarind – 1 small lemon size ball Turmeric – ½ tsp Water – 1 cup or as per requirement. For final curry: Ground coconut paste Marinated fish Oil – 3 tbsp Finely chopped onion – 1 medium size Salt as per taste Water as per requirement Method / Preparation: Step 1: Clean and wash thoroughly shevate fish. Add salt and apply them evenly. Keep it aside for marinate. Step 2: for fish curry Grind all ingredients mentioned above to a fine paste. Step 3: for the final curry In a pan, add oil once the oil heats. Add chopped onion and saute till translucent. Add ground coconut paste, add water, and adjust consistency. Mix well, cook on medium to low flame for 10 to 15 minutes. After 10 minutes add marinated fish and cook for 5 minutes more, add salt to taste. After 15 minutes switch off the gas and keep it aside. don’t overcook curry. Ingredients: Fish fry masala: Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp Turmeric powder – ½ tsp Red chili powder – 2 tsp Dry coriander powder – ½ tsp Cumin powder – ¼ tsp Goan garam masala – ¼ tsp Kokum syrup – 4 tsp (replace it with tamarind pulp or lime juice) Salt – 1 tsp Water – 2 tbsp For fish fry: Shevate – 4 (cleaned and washed thoroughly) Salt – ½ tsp Rava / semolina – ½ cup Oil – 3 to 4 tbsp Method / Preparation: Step 1: Clean and wash shevate thoroughly and keep it aside. Step 2: fish fry masala Mix all ingredients mentioned above in a bowl and keep it aside. Apply salt and masala to the fish evenly on both sides and marinate it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Add oil to a pan, once the oil heats. Coat rava to the fish and fry both sides on low flame till light golden in color. It takes around 10 minutes. Switch off the gas and remove it from a plate.
