For drinks we order a caffe latte and cappuccino. We spotted this restaurant in Vienna while just randomly walking into town to film our city guide. There’s no better way to start the day than with food in this city! 🏠 Wirr Café: Quirky Vibes & Creative Menu We land at Wirr Café, a local gem with a funky alien cat menu. We’ve dined here before on Middle Eastern fare, but today, it’s all about sampling their Wiener Frühstück (Viennese Breakfast) and Farmer’s Breakfast. The patio is chilly in late September, but we’re committed to soaking up the morning sunshine—fueled by a velvety café latte and a cute cappuccino. 🥖 Viennese Breakfast (Wiener Frühstück): A Continental Classic Our Viennese breakfast arrives warm and inviting: Fresh semmel bread roll (so good, how did we only just discover this?!), Flaky croissant, Ham, cheese, hard-boiled egg, Butter, jam. It’s a perfect blend of savory and sweet, with mini sandwiches and endless combinations. The highlight? Alternating between cheese, ham, and the satisfying crunch of the bread. The only debate: who gets the (slightly runny) egg! 🚜 Farmer’s Breakfast: Rustic & Hearty The Austrian Farmer’s Breakfast is the ultimate savory platter: Thick-sliced aged cheese, Prosciutto-style deli meat, Tomato, pickles, A unique carrot cream cheese spread, Fresh bread and a hard-boiled egg. Building mini open-faced sandwiches is half the fun—mixing spreads, cheese, pickles, and meat for the perfect bite. The consensus: the Farmer’s Breakfast is great for savory cravings, while the Viennese Breakfast is perfect for those who like a bit of everything. 💬 Favorite Breakfast? Who Wins? The verdict is split—one of us prefers the classic Viennese, the other goes for the hearty farmer’s style. It’s a win-win, as both breakfasts are fresh, filling, and delicious. Pro tip: don’t skip the bread or the cheese. And if you love eggs, you’ll get double portions here! 💶 Price & Recommendation This satisfying breakfast feast—two mains and two specialty coffees—came to just over 23 Euros. Not cheap, but great value for a quality breakfast in central Vienna.
