Welfare Assessment of growing pigs (mEATquality project)

There are several protocols available to assess the welfare of growing pigs. For the mEATquality project we use a combination of existing protocols (mainly Welfare Quality and the SusPigSys protocol), with added questions to include extensive farming systems. In this subtask of the mEATquality project, the protocols for on-farm data collection are developing and standardising across partners. The protocols include general farm description, environmental issues, animal production and farm economics, animal welfare and abattoir data.
