Join us as we take on a challenging 13-mile circular hike across the Coniston Fells in the Lake District, bagging 7 Wainwrights in a single day! 🏔️📸 This stunning (and exhausting!) route covers some of the best-known peaks in the Southern Fells, including Coniston Old Man and Dow Crag. Despite claggy weather and limited views, the adventure was worth every step. 🗻 Wainwrights included on this route: Wetherlam Swirl How Great Carrs Grey Friar Brim Fell Coniston Old Man Dow Crag 📍 Route Distance: ~13 miles (21 km) ⬆️ Total Ascent: ~1350 metres ⏱️ Duration: 7–8 hours at a steady pace, though it took us 11 hours thanks to frequent photo stops! 📷 Highlights: Halifax Bomber crash site between Swirl How and Great Carrs 🗺️ Route map & GPX: Download the full route here 🍺 After the hike, we stayed at The Coniston Inn — great location, decent prices, and much-needed beers (plus the slowest lift known to mankind...). If you’re planning a Lake District hiking challenge, or looking to bag multiple Wainwrights in a single walk, this route is a brilliant day out — just pack snacks, layers, and expect to be knackered by the end! 👍 Like, comment and subscribe for more UK mountain hikes, long-distance walking routes, and Wainwright-bagging adventures. #ConistonOldMan #Wainwrights #LakeDistrictHike #ConistonFells #7Wainwrights #UKMountains #Wetherlam #SwirlHow #GreatCarrs #DowCrag #GreyFriar #BrimFell #HikingUK #LongDistanceHike #WainwrightBagging
