Japan Trip 2025 - Kyoto Romantic Train & Hozugawa River Adventure

A cozy, rainy morning welcomed us as we arrived in Kyoto. After buying tickets for the Sagano Romantic Train, we enjoyed breakfast nearby before the ride began. As the train departed, light rain fell, adding to the charm of the journey. The 20-minute Romantic Train Ride took us through tunnels, lush forests, and along the beautiful Hozugawa River — the same river where we would later experience the boat ride. We even spotted boats gliding peacefully below us. At the final station, we took a shuttle bus to the Hozugawa River Boat Pier, where the real adventure began. The 2-hour boat ride was breathtaking — full of scenic twists and turns through mountains and clear waters. Near the end of the ride, a floating shop boat approached, offering freshly grilled squid and sweet rice balls right on the river! We ended the day with a peaceful walk along the riverside before taking the train back home — a perfect Kyoto experience filled with nature, culture, and unforgettable moments.
