Japan Trip 2025 - Kamakura Big Buddha, Tram Ride & Peaceful Kanagawa Scenes

Today we took a train to Kamakura Station and started the day with a walk to Kotoku-in Temple, home of the famous Great Buddha. We spent some quiet time there, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and observing the calm surroundings of this iconic statue. For lunch, we ate at a nearby Chinese restaurant close to the temple, then continued exploring the town. The scenery around Kamakura was beautiful and relaxing, with a charming local vibe. In the afternoon, we rode the city tram, which passed through narrow valleys, residential neighborhoods, and stunning coastal views along the beach. Watching the tram move through the town felt slow and peaceful — one of the highlights of the day. We then walked around Kanagawa in the early evening before heading back to our condo in Shibuya, ending the day on a calm and reflective note.
