Crazy Horse Monument Volksmarch - full hike to the Crazy Horse Monument- What to do Black Hills, South Dakota The Volksmarch is a festival that happens twice every year. Fall Volksmarch is scheduled for September 26th 2021 both at Crazyhorse! Take advantage of both dates and the amazing experience to hike up the Crazy Horse Monument. #cracyhorsemonument #hikingtocrazyhorse #volksmarch Two times per year the Crazy Horse Volksmarch takes place in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The Crazy Horse Memorial teams up with the Black Hills Volkssports Association to put on the event at the Crazy Horse Monument. Join me on the Crazy Horse Volksmarch 2020! The 10k or 6.2 mile hike passes through rugged trail (only hiked 2 times per year) and service roads to reach the arm of the Crazy Horse Monument. You walk across the top of statue's arm and can get close enough to touch the face of the Crazy Horse Monument. You can spend as much time on the Crazy Horse Monument as needed and can take pictures of the surrounding Black Hills in South Dakota and Wyoming! If you are planning to participate in the Hike to Crazy Horse, each person should bring 3 canned food items and has to pay $3 to participate. The hike is strenuous as you climb the mountain, so I recommend one or two trekking poles. It is required that you start your Volksmarch between 8am and 1pm. You can arrive early to wait in line to register. You must finish the hike by 4pm.
