7:01 AM on Sunday, January 11, 2026 District of North Vancouver, British Columbia Flint & Feather Climb in Winter ❄️ Conditions We started the climb in complete darkness, with heavy rain soaking the lower sections of the trail. About halfway up Lion’s Ridge, rain gradually turned to snow, signaling the beginning of true winter conditions. The ascent became significantly more demanding once we reached the rocky sections of the trail, where snow covered the route and concealed running water beneath. Each step required care and full concentration. At the trail’s bottleneck—the Crux Rock—the climb reached its most challenging point. A mix of snow, ice, cold temperatures, and exposure transformed the route into a serious winter scramble. Progress was slow and deliberate, demanding both physical strength and mental focus. Yet, the hardship was matched by its reward. The winter views were breathtaking, and the sense of accomplishment at the top was deeply satisfying. Overall, it was a fantastic climb—challenging, beautiful, and unforgettable. ❄️🏔️
