I love spotting quad jets... no matter the size so having some based in Montreal is fantastic news! The British Aerospace 146 (which later became the Avro RJ85 and RJ100) is a short haul regional jet built between 1983 to 2001. With 381 aircraft built, the Avro jets is the most successful british civil jet program! These jets are quite unique as there are not many examples of quad regional jets, this is one of the reasons why these aircraft are becoming rare. Summit Air is a charter airline based in Yellowknife, NWT. Recently, Summit took over the Baffin Mine charter from Chrono Aviation (and their 737-200's). Summit's Avro jets are gravel runway equipped and with their expertise in flying in Canada's far north they are an excellent replacement. Summit's RJ85 seats 90 passengers while their larger RJ100 seats 111 passengers in a 3-3 configuration.
