Ever wonder why the water seems to push back when we enter it? In this episode, we break down water displacement in a simple, easy-to-understand way. No heavy science! Just real understanding. When you enter the water, your body and gear displace water, and that displaced water pushes back upward on you. This is the foundation of why we float, sink, or hover underwater. Understanding water displacement isn’t just interesting. It’s incredibly useful for divers. When you grasp what’s happening between your body, your gear, and the water around you, buoyancy control starts to make more sense. Better buoyancy means: More control Better air consumption Less stress underwater And a lighter impact on the environment 🌱 This episode is part of my ongoing dive education journey, sharing what I’m learning as I continue to grow as a diver and helping others feel more confident, calm, and connected in the water.
