This is a very basic 1CC of Psyvariar 2. The game is fairly well known among Danmaku enthusiasts as its core gameplay is based on getting close to bullets in order to score. The genius idea comes from the half second of invulnerability the player gets at every level acquired in this manner. This leaves the door open to some crazy chaining, often leading the player to dive into dense bullet patterns. The game has some nice graphics and a fantastic soundtrack. One other major mechanic is the roll mode, triggered by wiggling the stick and maintaining a direction. Most ports seem to provide a dedicated button for the roll, but it’s not the case for the Dreamcast. One workaround I found is once activated, one can keep pressing downwards in order to stay in roll mode. The problem is that it becomes much more difficult to dodge efficiently while doing this. Being new to the game it became clear to me quite quickly that I could not guess really well what’s the exact length of invincibility provided by each level up. Therefore I just Yoloed some parts, hoping to make it through. For beginners it makes the game quite random but I’m sure experienced players would disagree with me :)
