Warragul Heritage Shuttles with A2 986 and A66 - August 2022

Steamrail Victoria operated a series of heritage shuttles between Warragul and Longwarry on the Gippsland line, on Saturday 20th of August 2022. On the Down end of the train was 1915 built 4-6-0 steam locomotive A2 986. On the Up end of the train was classic EMD diesel loco A66, which entered service as B66 in 1952, then extensively rebuilt into an A class in 1985. It was the last A class in revenue service, running passenger trains for V/line until 2018. It has been kept on the V/line roster for use on heritage trains such as this one, and has recently been repainted into its original 1980s tangerine and grey livery.
