Paneltim is a unique design and construction material, by description it is a twin wall internal grid structural plastic panel. But don’t let that intimidate you: it is a very easy material to fabricate. The first step is generally Panel Sizing; saw cutting panels to a specific length and/or width. D uring the process of panel sizing its possible to weld on edge additional panel sections. This process is known as butt welding and it permits making larger lengths and widths than your base panels themselves. And also utilizing your off cuts. This will all be covered in the next video. In dedicated plastic fabrication facilities, commonly large panel saws or sliding table saws are used. However, in many instances Paneltim is cut to size using simple circular saws on the jobsite. By cutting “near rib” you ensure that the outer edges of the panels remain closed. This not only looks good but also prevents any dirt or microbial organisms from growing within the open cells of the panel. Some of our panels have double ribs. These ribs offer just enough space between them so that a saw blade can pass between. These double ribs permit halving the panel with one pass of the saw. For example you can take a 40”inch wide panel and make two 20” wide half pieces, both with closed edges. I promise you, once you have tried using Paneltim, the fun begins and your imagination will take over. In the next video, we’ll show you the different plastic welding techniques. ► At Paneltim, we’re passionate about building better.
