The title says "Prisoners of War," but in this version, there's only one prisoner: Bart, who I guess leaves his buddy Snake behind while completing his daring secret jailbreak in order to bust out an enemy prison camp and assassinate its leader. It's premise that would do any one-man army flick from the late ’80s proud, presented in the style of beat-em-ups, which is to say the hottest and trendiest game format of the late ’80s. It's very much a game of its era! Heck, even the name Bart was gaining heat in 1989. Which is not to say that P.O.W. is a great game by any means, but it was heck of timely, once.
