West End Eagles ~ Haku & MV On Nest! Akecheta Remains On Tor In His Territory! 👑 Explore.org 9.25.25

In the morning, Akecheta was seen perched on the tor overlooking his territory. Haku & MV both flew to the nest. Haku is seen eating a fish while MV stands guard watching over the territory. There were no encounters during the morning hours between Akecheta & Haku & MV. Thank you for watching! 2025 history It have been a tumultuous breeding season. In late January, Akecheta was seen in a territorial battle with another male & was badly injured & the cams went down for two weeks. When the cams came back online, there was no sign of Akecheta. His mate Thunder bred with a new male named Makaio and laid two eggs. The first egg was taken by ravens. In early March, Thunder was displaced by a new female eagle named Haku. Makaio incubated the egg as best as could but had to leave it to hunt for food and ravens got the egg. Haku and Makaio did not attempt to breed this season. A new male visitor has been seen at the nest with Haku named MV for male visitor and he has replaced Makaio. In May, a lady over in Lake Casitas CA took a photograph of an eagle flying overhead that had a blue A-61 tag on his wing! That was Akecheta! He flew across the ocean from Catalina Islands to Lake Casitas CA. In September, Akecheta has returned to West End to reclaim his territory.
