The Word of God To Meditate On Today Reading 2 Samuel 23:6–7 AMP. “Thorns for the Fire: How God Deals With the Ungodly” Insights: 1) Thorns Represent “Unredeemable Resistance,” Not Just Ordinary Sin - This scripture is not talking about people who made mistakes. It is talking about people who have become worthless — meaning they have chosen a lifestyle of rebellion until they become spiritually harmful. Thorns are not just “bad plants.” Thorns are plants that injure anyone who handles them carelessly. That’s why David says they “cannot be taken with the hand.”This reveals a deep truth:Some problems cannot be solved by kindness alone. Some attacks cannot be handled by emotions. Some wickedness is not asking for correction — it is designed to wound. That’s why God says the wicked are “thrown away.”Scripture: “Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company corrupts good morals.’” — 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NASB)Some people are not just weak — they are corrupting.-- 2) God Teaches the Righteous (You and I) “Holy Distance” as a Weapon - David says thorns are “thrown away.” That means they are removed, rejected, separated. This is a warfare principle many believers ignore: God sometimes protects you by separating you.Not every relationship is to be fixed. Not every enemy is to be negotiated with. Not every spiritual thorn is to be hugged. There is a time to pray for people — yes.But there is also a time to draw a boundary and let God judge.Because thorns don’t just hurt you once. They keep piercing you until you stop handling them wrongly.Scripture: “Come out from among them and be separate,” says the Lord. “Do not touch what is unclean…” — 2 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV)Sometimes separation is not hatred — it is deliverance.-- 3) The “Iron and Spear” Reveals That Some Battles Require Spiritual Armor, Not Soft Hands - David says if anyone must touch them, he must be armed with iron and the shaft of a spear. This is deep: • Hands represent natural methods: talking, pleading, negotiating, reasoning. • Iron represents spiritual strength and authority. • Spear represents targeted warfare — not random prayers.Meaning: Some attacks cannot be handled with gentle spiritual laziness. You must be armed. This also teaches that you don’t fight evil with your bare soul. You don’t confront wickedness with unguarded emotions. You don’t engage spiritual thorns without spiritual weapons.Scripture: “Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to successfully stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.” — Ephesians 6:11 (AMP)Not every enemy deserves your hand. Some deserve your armor. PRAYER POINTS: Prayer 1: Father, deliver me from every thorny relationship that is designed to pierce my destiny in Jesus’ name“He rescued me from my strong enemy… for they were too mighty for me.” — Psalm 18:17 (NKJV)-- Prayer 2: Father, I refuse to handle wickedness with bare hands — I put on the Your armor NOW in Jesus’ name!“Take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day…” — Ephesians 6:13 (NASB)-- Prayer 3: Father, let every stubborn wickedness assigned to grow around my life like thorns — be uprooted and thrown away by fire NOW in Jesus’ name. “Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted.” — Matthew 15:13 (AMP)-- Prayer 4: Father, give me wisdom to know when to love, when to separate, and when to confront by spiritual authority in Jesus’ name!“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you…” — Psalm 32:8 (NKJV)-- Prayer 5: Father, by the fire of the Holy Ghost, let every evil plot against my home, ministry, and peace be completely burned NOW in Jesus’ name!“Our God is a consuming fire.” — Hebrews 12:29 (NKJV) JESUS IS LORD!
