In this lecture, James White examines the beliefs and practices of Jehovah's Witnesses, with particular focus on their doctrine of salvation and end-times theology. White outlines the Watchtower Society’s teaching that humanity is divided into three distinct groups: • The Anointed Class — a literal group of 144,000 individuals with a “heavenly hope,” resurrected as spirit beings to rule with Christ. • The Great Crowd — the vast majority of Jehovah’s Witnesses, who hold an “earthly hope” and expect resurrection as physical beings to live forever on a paradise Earth, receiving benefits through association with the anointed class. • Everyone Else — all non–Jehovah’s Witnesses, regarded as apostate and subject to divine judgment, with no resurrection for those who die during Armageddon. The lecture also addresses the Watchtower Society’s 1914 prophecy, which teaches that Christ returned invisibly in that year, marking the beginning of the final generation. White traces the movement’s history of revised prophetic expectations, including repeated predictions for Armageddon that failed to materialize. Alongside theological critique, White notes the dedication and organizational commitment of Jehovah’s Witnesses, highlighting their extensive preparation for ministry and global presence.
